Oh, no you didn't - OH, YES WE DID!

Being Steward's of Creation is one of the many things we value. In our care for our common home and community friendships, we collected for the local food bank, St.Paul's Church, Longridge. Thank you to everybody who donated food to help at such an important time of year. We collect throughout the year-any donations are always very welcome at the back of our school hall and church.

The whole school enjoyed attending the annual Christmas Pantomime at Lytham and the children had a great day. Thank you to parents/carers/PTFA and our community, who funded the cost of the coaches to take our children there-your work is greatly appreciated!

Last Friday, our school joined thousands across the UK for Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day.

Every pound raised helps provide essentials like food, education, and healthcare for children in the UK and around the world.

We raised nearly £100-well done all!

Our AMAZING music concert was a success.

Well done to our incredible band, choir and Glee Clubs-you brought us so much festive joy!

Odd Socks Day – Anti-Bullying Week (Theme: Power for Good)

This year’s Anti-Bullying Week theme was “Power for Good”, reminding us that every one of us has the power to make a positive difference. We launched the week with Odd Socks Day, where pupils and staff wore their most colorful and creative mismatched socks to celebrate individuality and inclusion.

Throughout the week, pupils explored what “Power for Good” means in everyday life. Activities included:

  • Class discussions on how small acts of kindness can create big changes.
  • Role-play scenarios to practice standing up for others and using our voices for good.
  • Kindness pledges, where pupils committed to one positive action each day.
  • Creative projects showcasing how we can use our power to help others, now displayed proudly around school.

The message was clear: we all have the power to make our school a safe, happy place where everyone feels valued. Our pupils embraced this theme wholeheartedly, showing empathy, courage, and respect in everything they did.

Anti-Bullying Week is more than a campaign—it’s a reminder that together, we can make a lasting difference.

Supporting Children in Need – Pudsey Appeal

Our community showed its generosity once again by raising £105.00 for Children in Need. Seeing pupils take part in fun activities while understanding the importance of helping others was heartwarming. Thank you to everyone who donated and joined in the spirit of giving.

Remembrance Mass and Poppy Appeal

We gathered in church for a moving Remembrance Mass, paying tribute to those who gave their lives for our freedom. The silence was powerful, and the prayers offered by our pupils were deeply thoughtful. Alongside this, our Poppy Appeal collection raised an impressive £159.21 for the Royal British Legion. Nationally, the Poppy Appeal has raised an incredible £17,322.57 this year—what a testament to the power of communities coming together to remember and support.

Bark Smart – Dog Safety Day

Finally, we welcomed the Bark Smart team for a special day dedicated to dog safety. Pupils learned how to behave safely around dogs and why understanding animal behavior is so important. It was both educational and fun, and we know these lessons will stay with our children for life.

Sports Blog – We Are Preston Small Schools Champions!

What an incredible achievement for our Year 5 and 6 children! We are thrilled to announce that we are the Preston Small Schools Champions across three sports this year. Our talented pupils have shown outstanding teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship, making us all extremely proud.

Preston Small Schools Athletics Champions
Preston Small Schools Football Champions
Preston Small Schools Gymnastics Champions

Our school values—Resilience and Aspiration. Every child demonstrated resilience by never giving up, pushing through challenges, and supporting one another throughout the competitions. Their aspirations shone brightly as they aimed high, worked hard, and achieved their goals together.

One of the most inspiring aspects of these events was how well the team supported each other. Whether cheering from the sidelines, encouraging teammates during tough moments, or celebrating every success, the sense of unity and friendship was incredible. This is what makes our school community so special.

Looking ahead, we are excited to represent Preston next term, competing against other schools from across Lancashire in both football and athletics. This is a fantastic opportunity for our pupils to showcase their skills on a bigger stage, and we know they will give it their all.

A huge thank you to everyone who has contributed to this journey—coaches, teachers, parents, and of course, our amazing children. We couldn’t be prouder!

Centenary of the Diocese of Lancaster – The Our Lady of Lourdes Statue Tour

Mary’s appearance at Lourdes to Saint Bernadette reflects her deep compassion for and identification with the poor. Saint Bernadette came from a very humble and uneducated background, yet Mary chose to appear to her in the simple grotto at Lourdes. By revealing herself as the Immaculate Conception…
