We are delighted to share some wonderful news with our school community. During the half term break, our school float was awarded first place at the annual Goosnargh and Whittingham Whitsuntide Festival—a truly fantastic achievement that reflects creativity, teamwork, and an enormous amount of dedication, especially from our float committee: Laura, Karen, Kate, Helen, Joanne, Marika, Sarah, Danielle, Fiona, Fay & Steph.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our incredible Float Committee, whose vision and leadership brought this project to life. You worked tirelessly behind the scenes, coordinating every detail and ensuring that the float not only represented our school, but did so with style, colour, and unity. Thank you for coming into school assemblies to encourage children to take part and for coming in to present the trophy and certificate.
The Float Committee brought together pupils, staff, and families, creating something that genuinely reflected the spirit of our school. The end result was nothing short of spectacular—vibrant, imaginative, and full of joy. It is no surprise that the judges recognised the effort and quality, awarding our float first place.
This success is not only about the final result, but about the journey: the collaboration, the creativity, and the shared sense of purpose. It is these experiences that build confidence, strengthen relationships, and create lasting memories for our children. A huge thank you to all who were able to attend the community event. Parents and carers, the children looked amazing and so did the parents who dressed up too!
Well done to all families and children for creating such beautifully decorated umbrellas and to the children who worked over time to create additional art work.
To everyone who contributed—whether through designing, building, donating materials, or offering encouragement—thank you. And once again, to our Float Committee, please accept our deepest appreciation for leading this project so brilliantly.
You have made our entire school community incredibly proud.
