World Book Day, Science Week, Curling and ONIONS!
Well, we have been very busy in school. I can’t believe that we are heading towards the end of Spring Term and we still have much to look forward to!
Next week, we are having our Big Lent Walk in school and we are linking The Stations of The Cross with this. We are also building in opportunities to enhance our Year of Prayer and helping others as we visit the stations outside. We would appreciate any tinned or non perishable food for the Ingol food bank-the collection basket will be at one of the stations.
Our class Holy Week assemblies will be lovely- do come along if you can. We will begin with Reception Class: The Last Supper on Monday 25th March, Parlick Class: Garden of Gethsemane Tuesday 26th March, Fairsnape Class: Stations of the Cross Wednesday 27th and Beacon Class: Resurrection on Thursday 28th March. All assemblies are in the hall at 9.15am each day of Holy Week.
In and around school is very busy and the children have been enjoying lots of enrichment activities. It is a first for me to see a display all about ONIONS! It certainly isn’t one of the most common school display themes but Ms Silvester has certainly embraced the onion theme studying Renoir. Who knew an onion could look so good and be so inspiring…the art work is really is excellent-well done children!
Beacon Class camouflage art is also beautiful and I love the modroc animal dioramas.
Archery in the EYFS…
Curling for our Year 5 children…
Science Week meant we could focus on different strands of Science in the different classes and we had a super Science whole school assembly to celebrate the wonderful learning!
World Book Day and reading for pleasure continues to be such a joy…you can even visit a production of The Wind in The Willows over the Easter break…
The children in Fairsnape Class have been to UCLAN for a sporting enrichment day…
Beacon Class children made beautiful scrap book style Examen books …
More sports competition first place success!
Keeping our minds and bodies safe and healthy with the NSPCC and other outside partners and agencies…
Careers Week was such a delight…thank you to all of the visitors who came to our careers fair…
Have a lovely weekend all.
