Welcome Back!
Welcome back to a new school year!
It is amazing how one job creates another (both jobs being quite large) but the end product is well worth the hassle. Over the Summer holidays, a new floor was laid in the Reception classroom and what a difference it made. I couldn’t believe how much it highlighted the horrendous walls which seemed to glow a sickly off cream colour with the odd mark of felt tip and paint. It just wouldn’t do so an emergency paint job quickly followed the laying of the floor. I am happy to say that the classroom looks stunning and fresh-all ready for our busy little starters. A new rabbit kingdom has been created and ‘Cluckingdom Palace’ sits proudly in the animal area nearest the garage.
Our new little ones have settled in, new families have joined us, class teachers have settled in to their new classrooms and all is well around school.
You will have received a September newsletter with important dates for your diaries. Mrs Kerr will be leading a meeting for new starter parents on Tuesday 25th September. This is informal and in the school hall but it will provide you with plenty of information about the Early Years curriculum and how we teach reading and phonics.
Yesterday, we had our first PTFA meeting of the year and we would be very grateful for any donations of bottles or other gifts you could send in for the Autumn Social. We are very excited about the social-tickets are still available from the school office! You are all welcome to come!
All classrooms are busy with activity, laughter, dance and song. New topics are in full swing and class topic maps, letters and learning logs will come home tonight.
It is wonderful to be back. Please do not hesitate in contacting school if you have any questions or queries.
Have a lovely weekend and don’t forget to have a look at class pages to find out what has been going on this week.
