HILL CHAPEL WW1 EXHIBITION: 19TH -20TH OCTOBER 2018

Dear all,

The children in the school choir and band have been learning some new repertoire for a very special concert as part of a WW1 exhibition and dedication of remembrance in church. The concert starts at 2.00pm on Friday 19th October. This is a super celebration which also involves our Year 4 children, showing their project work and poems. The Year 4 children are also working towards a completely separate event, which takes place with our Longridge Cluster of school on 11th November at The Guild Hall.

The concert and exhibition in our church on Friday 19th -Saturday 20th October have been organised by our parishioners and Heritage group. As school and parish work so closely together, we are supporting this wonderful exhibition of WW1 artefacts, war poems, pictures and a re dedication of our War Memorial. The church will be full of interesting artefacts and biographies of the 9 soldiers named on the War Memorial. You will also be able to learn much about the local History of our area. We will be displaying children’s work in church and peppering the children’s corner with a visual treat of our project work. Church will also be open on the Saturday for visitors to share in the work of the parish and school.

The exhibition will be open from 10.00am-4.00pm on Friday and Saturday and refreshments will be served. School will be performing at 2.00pm only on the Friday.

There will be some amazing raffle prizes-tickets can be purchased on entry to the exhibition:

• A signed PNE 1st team shirt-promotion year 2015-16
• PNE 1st team match ticket 2x adult and 2x children  or 1 adult and 3x children

• A family ticket for free entry to Blackpool Zoo for 2 adults and 2 children.
