On The Road Again…
Here is our new minibus! This is such an exciting time for us because we will be able to use the bus for UFA, year group trips, music days, sport competitions and visiting other school and nurseries.
Welcome back to the first week of our last half term this year. I cannot believe where the time has gone! We have had a lovely morning with Christine from CAFOD, Mrs. Hamer and Stella, who came to talk to the children about her experiences of leaving another country. The children were divided into groups and had to travel to different stations to learn about real stories from children who had to flee their countries for various reasons. The session was called ‘Share the Journey’ and all of our KS2 children were involved. Migrants and refugees are part of our global family and our children found out about reasons people have no choice other than to flee their countries. It was incredibly moving. Thank you to Mrs Hamer and Stella for adding a real life dimension and experience to the learning. It is very much appreciated.
Last Saturday, we enjoyed spending the afternoon together for the Goosnargh Float and Field Day.
Thank you very much to Amanda, Bernadette, Miranda, Vicki, Alison, Leila, Julie, Carolyn, Lyndsey, Clare, Abigail, Caroline, Sam, Amy, Andrea, Ruth, Lucy, Amy, Maria, Molly, Shelley, Joanne, Chris, Faye, Tom, Chris, Eddy(providing a tractor, trailer and driving a float) , Nina (who also provided a trailer), Dave (driving and lending us the tractor), Mr and Mrs Fletcher (for letting us use their barn), Thomas, James, Charlotte, Thomas, Ethan, Ryan, Jacob and everyone who helped create the most outstanding floats for our Goosnargh Festival. Hours and days have been spent on the floats. It is greatly appreciated.
Amanda, as always, has led a team of parent, children and community helpers with incredible creativity and the success of the two floats would not have been possible without the team of people mentioned above.
Thank you so much for your continued support and for giving your time so freely. Congratulations team on being placed 2nd and 4th for our amazing floats. The children on the school float did an amazing Peter Rabbit dance routine and I thank Mrs Davies and Mrs Blair for leading the children with their dance sequence. I will post some more pictures soon.
Have a lovely weekend and please remember to help prepare your child for St.Francis’ Got Talent if he/she is performing. Year 6 will be coming round all classes on Thursday 14th June with sign up sheets! All children are welcome to perform and celebrate their talents.
