Magazines and Going Global!
The lyrics of ‘When will I be famous’ courtesy of Bros (for those of you who remember the band from back in the 90s-I had all of their pin badges) have now been answered….Tuesday.
On Tuesday, we received a very exciting email from a Literacy consultant and writer for the NATE ( National Association for Teaching English) magazine. It was to tell us that our school is featured in the Autumn magazine. Lancashire County Council have identified us as a leading school for teaching English and they have been in awe of our exciting writing methods. We are delighted to now be supporting schools in other education authorities in developing their whole school approach towards teaching and learning. With the same theme, our school is part of another exciting cluster of schools and we are working on a reading festival to celebrate the ‘We Are Reading’ initiative. We will be working alongside Queen’s Drive, Fulwood and Cadley, Sherwood, St Mary’s St Andrews and St Anthony’s. Mrs. Spellbound will be inspiring our children in the magical realms of reading, writing and all things creative-just as we like it! More information will be coming soon.

The same day, I received an email from the CAFOD headquarters in London to thank us for letting them visit our school and use our school to help develop a CAFOD Club toolkit for the whole world to use.
Click on the link below to see the article that features on the CAFOD website. We are now linked with this initiative and we will continue to support the making of the toolkit.
Around school, Quidditch has been played, a crooked house has brought great delight to little tots, UFA groups are in full swing, Teddy Tennis has begun in the infants, Charlie Woodruff and Duddly (the dog) have been making Fairsnape Class laugh, preparations for Armistice are going well, Family Mass was a busy delight and buddies are doing a great job with our new starters. We hope you have all enjoyed seeing our new school video. The children all look wonderful and ,as always, have represented school brilliantly. They are all stars!
