From one great week to the next…
It really is ‘one week to the next’ when nearly every week has been a themed week! Yes, before breaking up, we experienced a Big Bird Watch, National Storytelling Week, Safety Week, Mental Health and Well-being Week and many other exciting things you can think of…
We thank our amazing parents and community workers who gave their time to come into school-some in police cars and some in an ambulance. The children learnt how to be paramedics and the police also taught children about being safe online. Our youngest children got involved and they really enjoyed sitting in the police car and exploring the ambulance.
Lots of storytelling fun has been going on-the love of stories and books begins in nursery…
It really has been a bonanza of learning…
In terms of sporting achievements, we have much to celebrate-the children are through to the finals in the Preston Championships! Children in Keys Stage 1 also joined with the children of St.Mary’s to take part in the miniskills competition and did incredibly well…well done children for representing school so well. We are looking forward to the finals next week!
Children in Beacon Class enjoyed their cooking and nutrition learning, which meant they needed a budget and a trip to the local supermarket before preparing and making their food…
Children in Beacon Class have also been sketching portraits of their heroes…
We look forward to Careers Week-thank you already to so many parents who are coming in to set up career stalls in our hall for our children to visit-we are very exciting! Our World Book Day will be held next Thursday in school-don’t forget to dress children as their favourite character!
We will be entering the sacred season of Lent very soon and we are looking forward to seeing Christine Dewhurst from CAFOD to speak to us about our Lent Pilgrims of Hope Journey with Jesus Stations-we have many things planned for the special Jubilee theme-Pilgrims of Hope.
