We have had a lovely day ( quite competitive at times) with our Year 6 children vs staff at netball. The Year 6 children are busily getting their photo books signed and they were sensational in yesterday’s leavers assembly. It was a joy to see parents as an audience again and there were certainly smiles and tears.
I absolutely love our school displays! Below, you will see the new waistcoats for toad created by Year 1 and 2 children. I really enjoyed reading the children's stories and their little boat poems in the style of 'Duck's Ditty' and 'The Owl and the Pussycat'-the children just keep on writing and writing and adding the pages of paper as they go.
What a super week we have had. It started with Mrs Rossall's class having a visit from a real marine biologist. The children enjoyed the rock pool roadshow so much that we got in touch with Delia Webb, a marine biologist, who is passionate about saving the oceans from pollution. It was shocking to see the impact of single use plastics in our oceans and we ask you all to continue to bring in bottle tops of various colours for some grand scale pieces of art work. Beacon Class wrote incredible persuasive letters to local MPs to raise a heightened awareness of this situation and recorded these with such passion and expression.
